This past Thursday night saw the opening of Hudson River Park’s “Hudson River Rocks” summer series at Pier 84 in New York City. The evening began with sets by female led bands, Weyes Blood and Speedy Ortiz. Unfortunately what began as a lovely night soon deteriorated into a nasty rain storm during Speedy Ortiz’s set, destroying lead singer Sadie Dupis’s guitar pedals. Eventually thunder and lighting, canceled Waxahatchee’s headlining set at the outdoor venue.
However all is not lost as We Were Promised Jetpacks and Yuck will be playing free shows later this summer. See the schedule here.
