St. Vincent has covered the Nine Inch Nails tune ‘Piggy’ as a tribute to the 90’s industrial icons, who were just inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame, along with Depeche Mode, Whitney Houston, the Notorious B.I.G, the Doobie Brothers, and T. Rex.
St. Vincent, aka Annie Clark, had this to say about the cover:
“I am obsessed with the slinky tambourine that is just a little lazy in feel. And when I took this song apart to cover it, it took me a long time to really understand the immensity of the groove. It’s a dark, industrial reggae.”
