We are super excited to head to SXSW Music Festival this year. SXSW is home to hundreds of shows all over Austin, Texas for the blessed week of March 13-19. Because there are a ton of great bands playing, we thought we would feature five bands a day you should check out while you are there for the next week. Here’s our first five:
Broncho
Oklahoma-natives Broncho create a mixture of feel-good and dark, gritty and seductive rock’n’roll. Their live shows are always an electric dance party so make sure you don’t miss them in Texas. The band released a new album Double Vanity last year and we can’t wait to see these new tracks live. Broncho play the Bungalow at 10:10PM on March 16th, for more information, click here!
Cherry Glazerr
Noise pop L.A. quartet Cherry Glazerr are going to Texas to electrify your music-loving soul with their tracks from their new album Apocalipstick out now, as well as 2014’s Haxel Princess. Cherry Glazerr are playing multiple shows at SXSW so make sure to catch them at least one of them (if not all). Here’s a list of their shows via SXSW!
Creepoid
Philly favorites Creepoid are bringing their nostalgic, hard-rocking shoe gaze tunes to SXSW to play multiple shows this year. The band will be playing one of our favorite venues, Barracuda March 14th at midnight and March 15th at The Iron Bear. For more information click here!
High Waisted
If you haven’t seen High Waisted live yet, you are in for a MAJOR treat. The NYC-based surf rock band led by megababe Jessica Louise Dye puts on a crazy good show that usually ends up with Jessica in (or on) the crowd at some point. This insanely fun dance party of the show will have you inviting all your friends and pretending it’s your actual house party, and you should, for every show they play at SXSW. Deap Vally
Girl oh girl, how much do I love Deap Vally? Let me count the ways. These badass babes released one of our favorite albums last year, Femejism, and absolutely slay live. The LA duo are no strangers to SXSW so get ready to feel the full power of their music at Hotel Vegas Annex on March 15th from 10:15pm-10:45pm.
