Arum Rae is a singer-songwriter originally from Austin, TX now living in Brooklyn. She writes her songs from life experiences and you can hear it in her voice and feel it in your bones when she performs live.
Arum Rae played Philly last night and there was enough soul and heartfelt blues in her soaring voice to light up the room. Mix that with her gritty, raw, blasting guitar and roaring drums and you get a sound that can swallow annoying obnoxious bar talkers and leave them with their jaws on the floor.
Her bluesy, weathered, range-less voice sounds like the extension of a soul that’s lived a lifetime. The guitar is an extension of her whole being. The two hypnotize you and you forget she’s doing both so effortlessly.
A gorgeous girl (with a ring game and shoe game that is on point) blasted blues, soul and pure rock throughout Philly last night and she’s coming for your town. – Cher Dunn
