On Friday, The Delta Saints took over the stage at Mercury Lounge for an absolutely riveting late night show. The Nashville-based band, featuring its core lineup of musicians Ben Ringel on guitars and lead vocals, Dylan Fitch on guitars, David Supica on bass, and Vincent Willimas on percussion, started things gradually with a captivating couple of songs from their latest release, Bones, before delivering a heartfelt thirteen-song set.
The evening’s repertoire was a perfect organic blend and reflection of the musical influences that define their sound, including country, Delta blues, R&B and rock. Subtle acoustic strumming, fuzz-toned electric guitar leads, fiery grunge infused slide guitars, and a rock solid rhythm section provided a solid foundation for the compelling lyrics and passionate vocals of Ringel. His voice fit like a jewel atop well-crafted multi-layers of sounds to create music that is very hard to ignore, a fact the audience easily demonstrated by dancing and singing along with the band throughout the show.
The Delta Saints will continue their US tour through August and bring it to a close in Louisville, KY on September 10th.
