Liily, the straight outta San Fernando Valley alt/indie band that’s kicking ass first then asking names, hit the stage at Mercury Lounge for an early show and smashed it into tiny pieces with their hard driven set.

The band, comprised of core members Maxx Morando (drums), Sam De La Torre (guitar), Charlie Anastasis (bass), and Dylan Nash (vocals), plus Desi Scaglione (guitar/bass) wasted no time in getting right into a persistent and contagious groove that’s extremely raw and hard to deny.

Maxx’s heart pounding rhythms along with Charlie’s complementary work on bass provided the perfect symbiotic foundation for De La Torre and Scaglione to spread layer upon layer of impeccably distorted guitar lines and harmonic overtones. Nash, exuding a handsome skateboarder’s charm and body jerking mannerism that slightly resembled a young Mick Jagger, delivered an extremely strong vocal performance that complimented their ass kicking repertoire with absolute precision and vigor.

The set list included songs like “Toro”, “The Weather” and “I Can Fool Anybody in This Town” among several others from their body of work, and the show was incredibly refreshing in terms of energy and vibe. Liily is the real deal, they are young and they come out to rock your sox off.

Liily is currently on tour and has many shows scheduled throughout the U.S. and Canada, including a performance in Lollapalooza on August 3, 2019. Check out their social media platforms for details on it, and above all go check out one of their shows. The life you save might be your own!
