Swedish rock band Ghost took “The Ultimate Tour Named Death” to Seattle, Washington on September 19 in support of their 2018 album, Prequelle.
Opening for Ghost for this leg of their North American tour are Texas natives Nothing More – which consists of members Jonny Hawkins (vocals), Daniel Oliver (bass), Mark Vollelunga (guitar), and Ben Anderson (drums). Nothing More has earned notoriety on the rock music scene over the past decade as a benchmark for what a live show is and should be for their fans; from the small stages in their early days to venues like WaMu. They are currently touring to promote their album, The Stories We Tell Ourselves, and will soon be back in the studio to create their next record.
Living up to their reputation of putting on a full theatrical production, Ghost took the fans on a “religious” journey that felt just like a Sunday morning church experience, but for rockers and metalheads. Cardinal Copia orchestrated a full blown two hour “sermon” for his “followers’” entertainment and enjoyment while the nameless Ghouls and Ghoulettes, who are known for the secrecy of their identities, supported Cardinal Copia in keeping their fans engaged with their lively theatrics. The fans were covered in colorful confetti and fake money by night’s end, and even had the treat of watching Cardinal Copia ride an antique style bicycle on stage.
Ghost will continue their North American tour through the end of October before heading out for a UK and European tour.
