Words by Stefani Reynolds
On April 7th, pop-punk duo Diet Cig celebrated the release of their first full length album with a double set at Baby’s All Right. A follow-up to their 2015 EP Over Easy, the New Paltz natives performed a good mix of fan favorites and new hits from Swear I’m Good at This as they hit the stage in front of a packed room.
The group’s energy continued to grow as the night went on, throwing witty comments in between incredibly captivating, dynamic songs. Alex Luciano’s powerful vocals were absolute
perfection as she flew around the stage and engaged with the crowd; the perfect pairing to Noah Bowman’s unforgettably animated drum beats.
Slowing it down for only a couple songs, Luciano kept the lighthearted nature of the night going as she asked the crowd, “Is anyone here on a Tinder date? If so, take a minute to thank them for taking the time to be here with you.”
Their second set of the night was sold out, and based on their earlier performance, there’s
absolutely no doubt that the duo came out with the same infectious energy. They will continue to promote Swear I’m Good at This with an international tour from now through the end of October.
