Sir Ringo Starr & his All Starr Band hosted a sold out performance at the Borgata Event Center Saturday night. They played one ‘warm-up’ show before heading back to Europe this summer for a two month tour. They will be returning to the states in September for an additional 20 dates.
This version of his All Starr’s features Colin Hay from Men At Work, Steve Lukather from Toto, Gregg Rolie, original vocals and keyboards for Santana, Graham Gouldman from 10cc, Warren Ham, on percussion and sax, and drummer Gregg Bissonette.
The band ran through hit after hit from each band members repertoire, taking turns throughout the evening. It is a refreshing way of doing a concert, but it definitely works. The crowd was on their feet much of the night, and of course sang along to many of the songs. Take a look at the setlist below and you can see why.
Peace & Love was prevalent throughout the night, often flashing the peace sign to the crowd. In addition to spreading love through music, Starr also sells his art, with 100% of the proceeds supporting The Lotus Foundation.
These funds are used to “support, participate in and promote charitable projects aimed at advancing social welfare in diverse areas including, but not limited to substance abuse, cerebral palsy, brain tumors, cancer, battered woman and their children, homelessness and animals in need.” Click here to learn more about this special cause.
Make sure to catch Ringo & His All Star Band when they return to the states!
