The upcoming musical marathon known as Brooklyn Comes Alive is excited to announce their latest collaborative set in conjunction with BrooklynVegan. Kris Meyers, drummer of Umphrey’s McGee, and Ryan Stasik, the famed UM bassist, will join Mike Gantzer, frontman of Aqueous, for a set dedicated to Green Day’s Dookie & Other Rock Music.
At this past year’s Summer Camp Music Festival, the trio debuted their Green Day tribute as a special late-night set. The inaugural performance was a highly attended success, packing the Soulshine Tent to the brims after-dark. During the coming Brooklyn Comes Alive, Myers, Stasik and Gantzer will similarly work through the entire catalog from Green Day’s 1994 classic record Dookie, such as “When I Come Around,” “Basket Case,” and “Welcome To Paradise,” in addition to performing a handful of other classics from bands like Ween, Weezer, and The Ramones.
So far, Brooklyn Comes Alive has shared lineup for their sets: “The Road Goes On Forever: Celebrating The Music Of The Allman Brothers Band”, A Tribute To Jamiroquai. Eric Krasno & Friends, moe.queous and supergroup George Porter Jr., Henry Butler & Johnny Vidacovich with more to come.
