Saturday night at East Williamsburg’s Shea Stadium saw a series of bands pay tribute to Steely Dan. The evening featured performances by Lithuania, Ian Sweet, Twiga, and Bad Faces, as well as a supergroup with members of Speedy Ortiz, So So Glos, Ava Luna, and Laser Background.
Highlights included Mikey Erg covering “My Old School”, Ian Sweet on “Green Earrings”, and Slonk Donkerson on “Reelin’ in the Years”. The night finished in fine fashion with Philadelphia’s Lithuania and singer Natalie Prass leading on King Charlemagne, Bad Sneakers, Dr. Wu, and the entire room joining together on “Dirty Work”.
