Caveman ‘Caveman’

Since the formation of the five-piece band in January of 2010, Caveman has certainly come a long way. In 2011, they released their buzz-worthy debut Coco Beware, landed a spot on the Stereogum’s “40 Best Bands of 2011” list, played at SXSW and even participated in Canadian Music Week. They’ve aggressively pursued any opportunity they could to reach your eardrums, and it’s totally paying off for the New York based indie rockers.

The hit single and precursor to the new album, ‘In the City’, had already swept fans off their feet in early 2013. And the momentum persists as Caveman released their self-titled sophomore album via Fat Possum Records this April.

Rather than stick to the formula of its predecessor, this is an effort that feels free to dip into unfamiliar waters to provide an array of different sounds. Guitar and synthesizer exchanges drive the entire LP, fostering carefree vibes compatible with fans of all musical tastes. Tracks such as ‘Where’s The Time’ and ‘Over My Head’ offer upbeat yet somber melodies which will be sure to have you swaying in your seat when jamming out.

It is safe to say that in just three short years Caveman has certainly acquired the popularity they deserve, and it is still growing. If anyone is looking for a chill time with a relaxing atmosphere, seeing Caveman in concert is definitely something you would not want to miss. The band goes on tour starting May 25th to June 29th, making pit-stops in their hometown of New York on June 21st and June 22nd.
